Baker Boy Headlines NBA House Australia in Melbourne

The Indigenous rapper closed the second night of the inaugural four-day event with an electrifying set at The Timber Yard amid playoff watch parties and NBA star appearances.

Baker Boy ignited the stage with a headline performance that capped the second night of the first-ever NBA House Australia in Melbourne.

The Indigenous artist took over The Timber Yard in Port Melbourne on May 15, 2026, delivering a high-energy set that had the crowd moving from the first track to the last.

The four-day festival runs May 14–17 and combines live NBA playoff screenings, music performances, meet-and-greets with All-Stars including DeMarcus Cousins, and a 3-on-3 celebrity game.

Fans arrived early for the evening session that began around 8:30 p.m., filling the venue with cheers during the games and shifting seamlessly into concert mode when Baker Boy appeared. The atmosphere built steadily as supporters enjoyed the blend of athletic competition and musical entertainment in one vibrant location.

Atlanta Hawks center Jock Landale, the Australian NBA representative, spent the day engaging supporters through Courtside Stories talks and fan sessions that added local flavor to the international event.

His presence underscored the growing ties between the league and Australian basketball talent. Community members appreciated the chance to connect directly with players who share their passion for the sport.

Baker Boy later reflected on the immediate connection he felt with the audience. "Everyone has been going mad for it... You know you got something good when people haven’t ever heard the track before, but you can see the whole crowd bouncing to it," the rapper noted.

The rapper’s set blended new material with fan favorites, keeping the energy high long after the final buzzer of the evening’s featured playoff game.

NBA All-Star Jaren Jackson Jr. captured the broader excitement surrounding the Melbourne stop. "I know Australian fans are some of the most passionate in the world, and I look forward to celebrating the excitement of the NBA Playoffs with them," the Memphis Grizzlies forward stated.

Throughout the night the Timber Yard pulsed with a mix of sports highlights on giant screens and live music that drew both longtime NBA followers and new concertgoers. The seamless transitions between segments kept everyone engaged from start to finish.

The event continues through the weekend with additional performances and activities designed to keep the momentum building for basketball and music fans across the city.
